Why Forge exists
Growing operations end up running on a patchwork: a quoting spreadsheet, a whiteboard for the schedule, an inbox where change requests live, and an accounts package that finds out what happened three weeks later. Every one of those tools is fine on its own. Together they guarantee that nobody has the whole picture, and that the same number gets typed in three times.
The usual answer is a general-purpose ERP that can be configured to fit anything — which in practice means it fits nothing in particular. You get a generic item record, a pile of optional fields, and a consultant to explain which combination of them means “panel”.
Forge takes the other route. Your product types are modeled properly, your workflows are defined rather than implied, and the system enforces them instead of hoping someone remembers.
What we hold to
Be opinionated where it matters. Forge takes positions — on how product types are modeled, on when work is allowed to start, on what a quantity means — and those positions are what make it useful.
Never lie about state. Nothing reads as saved until it is saved. Nothing reads as complete until it is complete. Work done offline says so, plainly, until the server confirms it — and anything rejected surfaces to a supervisor instead of quietly disappearing.
Record what happened. Every change carries who made it, when, and the request it arrived on. Not because a compliance regime demands it, but because the alternative is arguing about the past.
Who builds it
Forge Suite is built by EDA Software, LLC. Before Forge, we delivered two ERP implementations under contract — which is where most of the opinions on this site come from. Forge is what those projects kept arguing for: a system that already knows what a work order is, so the work is modeling your products rather than assembling an ERP from parts.
You deal with the people who build it. There is no account manager, no implementation bench, and no handover to a team you have not met.
How customers get started
Every Forge customer gets its own deployment — a separate application, a separate database and separate storage — with the modules, product types and workflows that match how they build. We stand that up with you, which is why the first step is a conversation rather than a sign-up form.
